I have been hard at work in the lab creating new Face Dew and Face Wash options. I have been testing them all year, and they are almost ready for their big Debut!
Our new Honey & Lemon Face Wash is non-exfoliating, unlike the original, and it is a lovely, bubbly white with an even consistency that many people seem to prefer. It is more shelf-stable so it can be packaged in a regular squeeze bottle, eliminating the need for pricier, airless pumps. This change will help me to keep my prices constant in the face of steeply rising prices for raw materials and packaging. Unfortunately, I will be forced to increase the price on our original exfoliating Daily Face Wash very soon (my first price increase in five years of business.)
Our new Honey Lemon Face Dew features jojoba oil and a fresh, light, all-natural scent.
If you are a regular purchaser of our original Face Dew products, you can expect to receive free samples of our new products in the mail very soon! I look forward to and as always, greatly appreciate your honest feedback – since I cannot fix any problem until I am aware of it.
You can expect to see these products added to the Online Shop by next week.
Here is a preview of one of the new products I will be debuting at the Eagle Holiday Market on November 19th.
I call this one is “Holy Cross”. It was inspired by the local landmark as well as the Season. Featuring real Frankincense, Myrrh Gum, and GOLDen Honey, with added natural scents of orange, cinnamon, and clove.
I intend for this to be one of my “Signature Soaps”, meaning that it will available year-round and sold in wholesale lots to as many local stores as I can get to carry it. I am not sure yet about the final weight of the bars, since they are still curing, so this label is subject to change, but here is the prototype I designed. I turned one of my photos into digital art for each of my Signature soaps, and I think they turned out quite well. I will unveil “Gore Range” and “Piney Lake” another day.
Look for more sneak peeks at my Holiday lineup, coming soon!
Natural clay is thought to tighten pores, smooth, and soften while drawing out impurities. I often use just a bit of this overnight, anywhere I feel a blemish trying to break out.
USE: Once per week suggested; typical usage is 6-8 treatments per dry oz.
Add equal amounts of dry mask and desired liquid to a non-reactive mixing vessel; mix until smooth. Use all water for oily skin; Use half water and half oil (jojoba, avocado, almond, grape seed, etc.) for other skin types.
Add liquid slowly and use more or less as needed, just to form a thick, spreadable paste. Apply to skin over face and neck, avoiding immediate eye and brow area. Allow to dry and harden until it cracks – 15 minutes is usually about right. Rinse off gently using warm water; finish up with a light moisturizer.
Getting ready to produce mass quantities of Hair Dew; seeking your input:
I am going to keep the all natural Bliss scent in the lineup permanently, and I still plan to add an all natural option that will appeal to men as well (maybe sandalwood and cedar or frankincense with touches of orange and just a hint of cinnamon). One day I would like to make a lavender option too. I am also going to keep the universally popular Just Fresh option in the lineup until further notice, since it is my best seller and the one I turn to most often myself.
But I just finished up some of this older citrus basil this morning, and man-oh-man do I miss THAT aroma! But, I am torn. I have some delicious smelling cucumber melon as well, and I really miss having that one on hand in lotion. My Grand-Angel Brandi would vote for cucumber melon, I know, because she used some of my older lotion in that scent last weekend and raved about it.
What to do???? I think that whichever one I go with, I should make it in both shampoo and lotion, and I can’t make both …. If you want to over rule the Grand-Angel, better speak up, I guess, LOL.
I rub a little of this into my still-wet skin after every shower for all-over moisturizing that can’t be beat. A mild but pleasant aroma from skin-friendly essential oils is sure to please either sex. Makes a great massage oil and all-over moisturizer. Contains oils that are thought to be helpful to treat scars, cellulite and stretch marks. (My husband actually prefers this product over all others for moisturizing his face.)
Sold some Hair Dew to a hair stylist friend of mine this week (I didn’t specifically ask her permission to share her name, so I won’t, just yet). Her hair looked okay when I saw her afterward, yesterday, but not as nice as I had expected, so I grilled her and sure enough, she had washed twice because the first wash “didn’t leave her hair feeling clean”. I laughed and told her that I would bet money that it had been clean, but not stripped, and she just wasn’t used to that feeling, but to please trust me and do it just once next time, and then to indulge me even more and let it air dry afterwards. She called me a little while ago from a friend’s house, who is another local hair stylist. “You should see my hair TODAY!” she starts out, and then says that HE wants some now, how much is it, and can she come pick up a set right now? grin emoticon grin emoticon grin emoticon Turns out she has beautiful curls … who knew? lol. I just saw them and felt them. More importantly, it seems like she is happy with her curls so maybe she won’t have to be dragging out the hot iron every day any more. Because she has been a hair dresser for almost 40 years, of COURSE she colors her hair, so she will test for us whether it fades her color or not over time, and who better to report on that, right…? grin again. I will of course report back honestly as to how that all goes.
I am grinning like the Cheshire cat here. And I am going into the lab momentarily to make a big batch of the new natually scented line of Hair Dew. I can’t decide what to call it, though, and could use some help. It is soft, and floral, and I might just go with “Soft”… but that seems sort of lazy, or at the least unimaginative. I have a “Just Fresh” scent already that is popular in hair and soap, and am about to release a “Just Clean” scent in Sugar Scrub. What do you think of “Soft”? Soft Summer Breeze was one of my first thoughts, but that seems too wordy… plus I would like to offer it year round. Suggestions welcomed. 😆
Packaged as singles for $4 or bundles of (3) tea bags for $10 – I label each item in a multi-set like this individually, so that you can gift some, keep some. Adults can use up to two bags per bath. Just toss one or two bags in at the beginning and let ‘er steep.
Back in stock by popular demand, and I am really glad, thank you, because I missed having it around myself. 8 ounce tub as shown is $15. The price per ounce has gone down, and it should be easier to dispense from this wide-mouth tub.
Things have been crazy busy for me this year so far, and I have not had a lot of time to craft, but all that changes NOW. I don’t want to spend every January immersed in financial and payroll reports for multiple entities any more (just Re-dew reports!)
I am looking forward to swapping that lid out for a white or perhaps green one, but honestly, it is like this… Until I finish crawling out of the hole of debt that I accrued setting up ‘The Lab’, I am sort of making do when it comes to container colors (haunting clearance sales and snapping up any USA-made bargain containers that I can use.) When it comes to ingredients, however, I have never and will never cut ANY corners. I like to think that those priorities are also yours, and that you will forgive me the occasional odd color choice during this first year of operations.
